"...but He Looks Like His Dad!"

Ryan is 10 months old and we have had to shave his head 3 times. His hair is very thick and course just like his mom. It grows very fast, just like his dad. Tonight was hair cut night for the boys, and well, dad wasn't paying attention to the attachment on the clippers when he went to shave Ryan's hair. He took off a little more than I would of liked. That's OK...he looks like his dad even more now! The lady that cuts my hair offered to do Ryan's, but he is still too young for scissors that close to his head and eyes. When he's a little older, I will take him down for an actual hair cut. Shaving will do for now...I don't want my kid to have a mullet.

Bike Adventures

We are trying to find ways to be more active and spend time together as a family. We bought a bike trailer with the hopes that we will be taking bike adventures together. As of right now we have everything we need, minus one bike. I have one in mind...Now I just need to go get it. (Its hot pink. Which I think is kind of ridiculous, but whatever.) We were surprised to see that Ryan really enjoys his little buggy. He laughs and smiles when you spin him around in it. I bought Shane a Wii for his 30th birthday. I know its next month but I was just so excited that I am able to do it for him...so I did! It's kind of annoying that he just bought Guitar Hero Metallica for his PS2, oh well.

Ryan is walking better and better everyday. I know people are curious so here are a few video clips for you. I'm amazed at kids that walk at one year, but 10 months is just amazing to me. I always knew he would be special!

A Baby Bump

Happy Memorial Day! Today we went to visit my oldest friend Rachel who I haven't seen in 8 years! Shane had never met her. We went to their home in Gilbert and had lunch with her and her husband Louie. She is almost 7 months pregnant so, of course, we talked about that. She is also having a boy and I couldn't be more excited for her. Unfortunately, we came unprepared for nap time and our visit was cut a bit short. I am sure we will be spending a lot of time with them over the next few months and after the baby comes.

I wanted to share the next couple of photos with you all because of the milestone in parenting that we have reached. Well, its more like the milestone we have been reaching over the past few months. Ryan, and all kids it seems, go from not being able to do something to being able to do something really well. And from what I can tell, this process happens over night. Ryan not only walks, but he now RUNS. I was not prepared for running. He is faster than me, he can get away from me way to quickly. These pictures show the huge bump across his forehead because Ryan thought it would be fun to run, headfirst, into the bookshelf. I guess it really goes to show you that you are never really prepared to be a parent...

Open...Open...Open...

Wednesday will mark a historic day for all of us here in Maricopa. Many, like myself and Shane, are so excited we can barely contain it. We are busting at the seams with delight!! In fact, my husband has been counting down the days for weeks and has started making a list of things he would like to buy on this wonderful day in history...like bullets & pot stickers. Walmart will officially be open for business. Say what you will, but I cant wait to drive 30 seconds to buy groceries. (And NO...I refuse to shop at Fry's because I cant get out of that place without spending hundreds. And I realize that our Fry's in Maricopa was ranked the highest for sales in the state, that's because it services like 40,000 people on any given weekend!) Heck, I could even walk. I can see the freaking place from my backyard and it's the best view I could ask for. The thought of having to drive to Casa Grande or Tempe one more time makes me want to die. Just to buy somewhat affordable crap, and remember everyone, Shane can double fist frozen pizzas and that can get pretty expensive. So lookout Walmart shoppers...see you on Wednesday. We will be the ones buying all the bullets!

Ryan's BIG Move

We have finally moved Ryan into his new bedroom. We have been talking about it for weeks. He is kind of a light sleeper, and wuth Shane coming home late sometimes, we decided to move him away from the noisiest part of the house. Next week we will be painting his room...I will post the finished product.
>> Ryan trying to help clean up his room.
>>trying to help, but not really...

Putting the Life Back In "A Borg's Life"

What a week...or week and a half, maybe?? There is so much going on and I love it. New hair, old friends coming back into my life (that I missed dearly...cant wait to see you Rachel, and that baby bump!), a great job that I love, and a wonderful family! I'm trying to stay positive and project it too others. Ryan is amazing! Other than having pink eye, for the second time, he is great. He walks on his own now...with less tumbles. He throws his arms in the air, screams as loud as he can, and just goes for it. He teacher, Ginger, works with him everyday. He is her favorite. You always want to think that your kid is the teachers favorite, but every time we pick up Ryan she is holding him. She is always telling us how wonderful he is and kisses his little face. I think she is the best part of daycare. Ryan's 2 front teeth are coming in with a vengeance. They are HUGE. He's gonna look like a chipmunk in a few weeks. I have taken over marketing along with sales at work, and its been exciting. At last I have found a way to use my creative side to make more $money$...woohoo! I have been neglecting the blog, so I will be posting videos and more pictures over the next couple of days. So get your fill!!

>>The picture is one of the views from my office.

Little Swimmer

We went swimming today! It was a good time. I bought his pool when he was about 4 days old. We just put it up and I didnt realize how huge it is. You could swim laps in this thing. Ryan likes to splash the water around and I think he is intentionally trying to get water up his nose. We also got a basketball hoop. He is really good at making baskets!! I also tried to teach the little guy how to color, but all he wanted to do was eat the crayons and cry when I wouldn't let him.
